Andover Girls Dinner @ La Jamon - 9.28.10

So today was absolutely crazy at work (as most days are) and around 3pm I decided it was going to be too much to meet up with Sarah, Rache and Amita for our girls dinner. I jammed through the day - literally sending 1000 emails and running from meeting to meeting -- only to hit 7pm and think...I want to see my girls.

Cue the call to Kline to see where they were, I hopped in a cab and headed to Irving Place (17th & Irving) at Mario Batalli's restaurant 'La Jamon'. It is a really cute wine bar with nice appetizers. We had a pate, octopus and a few cheeses and split one bottle of red wine.

Quote of the night:
"He's always been a bit cocky, so I was trying to keep my guard up so I said 'hope you can't smell the guy who was here last night on my sheets'". Frecking classic.

We actually showed self control and left after the bottle of wine and I was home by 9pm! Definitely a record for the Andover gals! Came home and attempted to clean, but instead caught up on more TiVo :)

I've decided I'm ready to have a boyfriend.

A Night In - 9.27.10

Monday 9.27 - I arrived home for a night to myself. I caught up on about 5 hours of television, sat on the couch under my blanket and talked on the phone to a few of the regulars. These nights don't happen often - but I sure do love them when they do.

See - I am human every once in a while...

Post Flight Meet Up With Vardaro - 9.26.10

So most people after being gone on vacation for 4 days and traveling across the country would run home to bed and crash. Not Misty. Not today. Danielle Vardaro, my close friend from high school was in from Seattle for a weekend excursion with 6 of her close friends. I got dropped off from the JFK --> Manhattan us at Carmine's Restaurant in Times Square, ran into the restaurant, luggage and sweatpants and probably smelling pretty funky and gave her the biggest hug of my life. I miss Danielle a LOT. She was my rock for so much of high school and it was amazing to see her.

I immediately grabbed a change of clothes and changed in the bathroom. I started conversation and immediately brought up the tempo at dinner (the girls were very hungover from the night before). Before I knew it, I had convinced them all to come back to my apartment for drinks and a view of the city. I took them all by my favorite store 'Coup de Cour' where they were already closed. Leave it to Misty -- I banged on the glass where I saw Isaaca who works there and knows me (I shop here WAY too often!) and convinced him to open the store for the ladies and give a PRIVATE shopping experience. 1.5 hours later we left, feeling like celebrities and went to my apartment where the girls oohed and aaahed at my rooftop view. I played hostest with the mostest providing snacks and wine on a whim and kept the momentum going. I finally crashed around 1:30am.

Not a bad Sunday night post cross country flight, right?

The Inspiration - 9.26.10

Today I flew home from Estes Park, Colorado after a lovely 4 day vacation with the Mafia gals (Sarah, Susie and Winkler). We celebrated Winkler's 28th birthday with lovely hikes in the mountains, a pub crawl around Fort Collins, hot tube outings and quality time with her family. It was there that I realized that I live a VERY full life. One that most can not endure and one that most find fascinating. To me...it's just my life. It's how I've always lived. If I don't have to miss an event -- I won't. If I can cram an extra thing in my day -- I will. Some call me crazy, but I realized this weekend that I wouldn't trade anything for my life.

So I am going to do my best in documenting my days on this blog. I will do my best to add commentary, quotes, memories, and photographs in the hopes of someday being able to look back and think...damn - I lived it up every day.

The best part is, I don't know if I'm ever going to show this to anyone.
